Question 1:

You will hear two students Kathy and Steven talking about their studies. After listening to the talk, in 10 seconds, please speak into the microphone and retell what you have just heard from the talk in your own words. You will have 40 seconds to give your response.

Suggested Answer:

This is part of a discussion between two students. The discussion is more about life of the great 18th century Romantic poet John Keats, than about his work. John lost his father to an accident when the former was barely eight years old. This left a deep impression on his life and perhaps added to the beauty and human appeal of his poetry. Though John Keats also died very young, he produced work that left a deep impression on generations.

Question 2:

ou will hear a lecture. After listening to the lecture, in 10 seconds, please speak into the microphone and retell what you have just heard from the lecture in your own words. You will have 40 seconds to give your response.

Suggested Answer:

The lecture is about new age medical care where the diagnosis, treatment and aftercare will be driven by technology. Early treatment to even prevent the onset of a disease will be possible, and not only will have precision but will also be networked. Such treatment will bring under its ambit diseases presently considered untreatable, and will minimise recurrence and side effects. Overall healthcare will be much improved with new age technology.

Question 3:

You will hear a lecture. After listening to the lecture, in 10 seconds, please speak into the microphone and retell what you have just heard from the lecture in your own words. You will have 40 seconds to give your response.

Suggested Answer:

The lecture is about the mechanism of earthquakes. The earthquakes originate deep within the earth, often miles underneath, due to faults between tectonic plates. The huge rocky plates slip against each other, causing great friction that, when suddenly released cause earthquakes. In case of large earthquakes, the slip travels vertically up to the surface of the earth, to cause upheaval and destruction.
