Question 1:
Look at the graph below. In 25 seconds, please speak into the microphone and describe in detail what the graph is showing. You will have 40 seconds to give your response.
Suggested Answer:
The image maps the distribution of black rhino across the African continent. Historically, the black rhino roamed around the entire South and East Africa, barring small stretches, and parts of Central Africa. Over time, the rhino population appears to have disappeared in large ranges of Central Africa. In recent times, the original population was found mostly around the coastal regions of South and East Africa. Efforts have been made to repopulate them in the hinterlands of South and East. In fact, the animal population has been introduced in newer ranges in West and Central Africa, not its historical habitats.

Look at the graph below. In 25 seconds, please speak into the microphone and describe in detail what the graph is showing. You will have 40 seconds to give your response.
Suggested Answer:
The bar graph seems to represent results of a survey on what needs to be improved in newspaper. More than half the people surveyed would like to have more investigative stories. On the other hand, 3.2% of the people wanted less investigative stories. Similarly, while 29.3% people wanted more feel-good stories, 7.4% wanted less feel-good stories. 30.2% wanted a variety of story subjects. As much as 40% people wanted more recognition of local residents’ achievements. Thus most of the people surveyed wanted changes in the newspaper coverage. Only 18.6% wanted change in delivery time.

CLIMATE GRAPH OF BIRMINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM
Suggested Answer:
The image presents climate graph of Birmingham city in United Kingdom for 12 months of a year. It covers two aspects of the climate, namely temperature in Celsius and rainfall in millimetres. The bars represent the rainfall, month wise. Two line graphs plot the maximum and minimum average daily temperature. The rains seem to be fairly distributed through the year, though the highest rainfall is recorded during November in excess of 80 mm, and the lowest at around 50 mm during June. The temperatures are pretty low in winter months of November to February and seem to peak from June to August, which can be dubbed as summer months. Even so, the temperatures never seem to touch zero-degree Celsius at the lower end and 20 degree Celsius at the higher end, and so the climate of Birmingham can be called moderate.
Question 4:
Look at the chart below. In 25 seconds, please speak into the microphone and describe in detail what the chart is showing. You will have 40 seconds to give your response.
Suggested Answer:
The bar chart depicts global plastic waste generation by industrial sector, during the year 2015. The total waste generation runs into hundreds of million tonnes. The biggest culprit by far is the Packaging Industry, which generated 141 million tonnes of plastic waste during the year. This is almost as much as the waste generated by all the other industries combined, as illustrated in the chart. The next two biggest culprits were the Textile Industry with 38 million tonnes of waste generated, and Consumer and Institutional Products industry, with 37 million tonnes. Transportation produced 17 million tonnes and Construction and Electrical or Electronic industry produced 13 tonnes each of plastic waste. All the other sectors combined produced 42 + 1 million tonnes, and were thus minions in this matter.

Suggested Answer:
The table depicts the spread of internet use across various European countries, and its country-wise growth over 10-year period 1995-2004. The spread and growth is measured by the number of internet users in millions in the years 1995, 2000 and 2004. The highest concentration of internet usage by far is in the UK – in fact, higher than the combined usage in all other countries named. The number of internet users in the UK was 16 million in the year 1995, which increased to 22 million in 2000 and then sharply to 41 million in 2004. The next highest concentration was in Germany, where the number of users was 5 million in 1995, which increased sharply to 14 million in 2000 and then increased marginally to 15 million in the year 2004. In France, Switzerland and Spain, internet has not been very popular, though all these countries have registered internet growth over the years.
